I have a confession to make.
I remember a time in college when someone asked me if I was a feminist and I said, yes, I was, but not one of those feminists. You know who I’m talking about: the man hating, bra burning, craaaazy feminists.
It took me a few years of living, learning and mothering to learn that feminism is inclusive, it’s for everyone -- women and men, rebels and squares, conservatives and liberals, bra burners and bra enthusiasts. Because feminism means equality: the political, social and economic equality of women and men. It’s right there in the dictionary.
So I’m here to tell you that if you think women are equal to men, congratulations, you’re a feminist! I’m so happy you’re out there.
Be kind, be brave, be a feminist.
