It may be tempting to default to the comfortable t-shirt and yoga pants, but it’s more fun to get creative with dressing your new curves and make the most out of this special moment in life. Most commercial maternity wear is anything but high fashion, but it only takes just a bit of thinking outside-the-box to amp up an otherwise boring outfit while staying comfortable.
1) THE DRAPEY CARDIGAN
A cardigan with maternity tank and leggings is my default ensemble for an easy, cool-weather outfit. Here I choose an extra-long cardigan with sheer texture and leather leggings to add an edge.
2) THE MAXI DRESS
Having a summer pregnancy, the maxi dress were my go-to piece for everyday wear. Not having to deal with pants or a waist line, the maxi dress is to me by far the most comfortable pregnancy wear. Choose a flowey silhouette, or a form-fitting stretch material to show off your new curves.

3) THE BASIC STRETCH SKIRT
A simple, cotton spandex stretch skirt goes with almost every loose-fitting top that still fits the pregnant belly. This is the most affordable (under $15!) yet essential piece of my maternity purchases. Here I have styled it with a loose high-low top.
4) THE STRETCHY DRESS
Can you tell “stretchy” is key in my maternity wear? This form-fitting silhouette is actually more slimming than a wide cut.
5) THE BUTTON-DOWN SHIRT
Choose a flowey button-down in a couple sizes up to allow room for the growing belly. The drapery on the front of this blouse allows me to wear it unbuttoned at the bottom with a maternity tank inside.
